Everywhere you look, you see people losing weight, wanting to lose weight, or have given up on losing weight. Our Featured Guest on DivaTalkRadio is Diva Taunia and she will share with us how she has lost more than 165 lbs by opting for a surgical procedure, better known as gastric bypass.
Diva Taunia promises to speak candid and open about the details leading up to her decision to undergo the procedure, the complications she endured, the remarkable results she has obtained, and finding the love of her life for which she is now planning their marriage.
Diva Taunia is a professional vocalist, radio host, and activist for the weight loss surgery community. For most of her adult life, she was morbidly obese at 300+ lbs. It wasn’t until her weight began seriously affecting her health and her music that she began researching weight loss surgery. After six months of research, she chose RNY gastric bypass and on 3/25/08 her surgery was performed by Dr. Donald Hess at Boston Medical Center. To date, she has lost over 165+ lbs and continues to document her weight loss journey on her website, blog, and YoutTube channel. To watch Diva Taunia from 300+ lbs to now, please visit her YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/divataunia.
Plan on joining us LIVE on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Diva Taunia will answer all your questions and I may be able to get her to sing us a song. Here’s my favorite from Diva Taunia…Enjoy!

Not All Work-at-Home Women are Freelancers
February 9, 2010 by Kelli Claypool
Many people want the opportunity to work from home. However, they’re not inspired by the ‘freelance lifestyle’, which does offer some challenges. What work at home opportunities are available? Here are some options to consider:
* Direct Sales – Direct sales puts you in the driver’s seat without the risk. A direct sales associate is someone who sells a company’s products or services and works on a commission basis. Tupperware, Mary Kay and Discovery Toys are popular direct sales companies; however, because the business model is so successful you can find a direct sales company in just about every niche.
As a direct sales person, there is a low start-up cost, usually just the cost of buying a few products to market at home parties. Most of the time direct sales companies provide their associates with a bevy of marketing materials and everything they need to succeed.
* Medical Transcriptionist – Medical transcriptionists essentially take doctor dictated recordings and transcribe them. This isn’t as easy as it sounds because a medical transcriptionist will need to know and understand medical terminology. Many medical transcriptionists work on tight deadlines and have a degree or certification in the field.
* General Transcriptionist – As an alternative to medical transcription, a general transcriptionist is in high demand. With more and more business going online and conducting teleseminars, webinars, and creating information productions, the use of a general transcriptionist is essential. The general transcriptionist will take the recording/audio and transcribe it into a readable document, usually a Word document. A general transcriptionist must be detailed oriented and have a keen ear.
If having your own general transcription business interests you, I have a 12-week home study training course that will put you in the right path of making money as a general transcriptionist. Visit www.TranscribeIntensive.com to learn more.
* Customer Service – A number of companies around the world outsource their customer service to work from home contractors. You’ll need a computer and to go through their customer support training, and of course be right next to your phone during your contracted hours. There are work from home customer service scams, so if you’re interested in this opportunity you’ll want to contract with a reputable organization. Research them before you sign on the dotted line.
* Data Entry – Like customer service and medical transcription, there are work from home data entry scams. However, this can also be a legitimate option. The key is to do your homework on any organization you’re looking into or considering applying to, and never send anyone money to get a job.
* Telecommuting Opportunities – In addition to the standard work from home opportunities or direct sales opportunities, you may be able to transition your current job into a work from home or telecommuting situation. Many positions from an office manager to an attorney can be telecommuting opportunities.
If you’re already gainfully employed and want to transition your job from an office one to a telecommuting one, create a plan and a proposal that will benefit your boss and other employees before you present it to them.
Many times it’s easier to gradually ease into telecommuting by working from home one day a week at first. As you prove to your boss that it can work, you can add days. The key, however, is to be extremely productive on those work from home days.
Where can you find telecommuting and work from home jobs? Here are some suggestions:
- Check your local job postings and regular job sites
- Approach your employer
- Visit websites where work from home jobs are posted (be scam savvy)
- Contact companies you want to work for with a cover letter and a resume
Working from home doesn’t have to be a pipe dream – it is possible. With the right research and planning, you can live the life you desire.
I’d love to hear from you. Please post your questions and comments about working from home below.

We are now in the second week of February and folks are already having a hard time focusing and staying on course to fulfill their goals and desires.
The reason people get stuck in their business is because they

of what to do next.
Join Kelli Claypool as she shares steps on how to break tasks up into bite-size pieces to eliminate the overwhelm so that you can focus on the big picture and achieve your goals for 2010. Have a pen and paper handy so you can take plenty of notes.

Singer and Songwriter Billie Myers is our Featured Guest on 11-18-09

After a seven-year hiatus, Billie Myers , the prodigiously talented British singer/songwriter who delivered the international smash-hit “Kiss the Rain”, is back with her latest music gem “Tea and Sympathy” and is already making a lot of noise!
On September 1, the highly anticipated buzz-heavy “Tea and Sympathy”, in less than 24 hours of its online release, impressively scored a #15 spot on the iTunes Singer/songwriter chart.
This time around, Billie has got some heavy hitters in her corner. The
envelope pushing musically expansive new CD features collaborations with such highly acclaimed songwriters as Peter Vale, (Lemar, Beverly Knight) Marcella Detroit, (Shakespeare’s Sister, Eric Clapton) and Kristen Hall, (Sugarland). While staying true to the expressive vocals and incisive lyrics that have earned her a loyal fan base and ongoing critical acclaim, Myers has broken new ground musically.
Working with UK producer Dee Adam, Myers has fashioned a unique collage of sound that intertwines electronica, trip-hop beats, and bluesy guitars around her live acoustic/rock roots.
Having formed her own record label Fruit Loop Records, after being dropped by Universal, Billie Myers is going the independent way by successfully utilizing the internet as a marketing and distribution tool. She is releasing her first single “I Hope You’re Happy Now” exclusively on iTunes UK and iTunes USA.
A resolute follower of D.I.Y ethos, the talented artist, who has already established via a guerrilla style type of promotion/PR a strong world wide web presence, is setting the perfect example on how independent artists can distribute music sans major label support by making full use of the internet and the many social networks a la Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter to name a few.
The Divas are thrilled to have Billie Myers as our guest on November 18th. This lady is beautiful inside and out and her music is amazing! You will not want to miss this show!

Candi Wingate of Nannies4Hire is our Featured Guest on 11-4-09
October 30, 2009 by Kelli Claypool
Filed under Future Guests and Shows
As the former nanny for a couple with five children, Candi Wingate quickly learned about the needs of a modern day family. Her family’s daily routine began with getting the children up and dressed, feeding them breakfast, packing lunches, making sure all teeth and hair were properly brushed, and then shuttling them out the door to school. This was performed almost entirely before sunrise!
Then there was: grocery shopping, cleaning house, doing laundry, feeding the babies (newborn twins), putting them down for a nap, getting them up, running errands, and getting a jump on dinner before the big kids came home just…so…she…could…help with homework, help with dinner, wash the dishes (and the kids!) and, finally, place them securely in bed with lots of hugs and kisses.
As a nanny, Candi gave these parents the support they needed to keep their children healthy and happy. She gave them the gift of stress relief, increased job performance, happy children…a happy family. And then another miracle, she says…“I became divinely inspired with the gift of match making, matching families with the right nanny or babysitter for their children.”
It was 1994 and Candi, now a wife, purchased her very own nanny placement agency. Soon after, Nannies4Hire.com was born. Based in Nebraska and serving all of the U.S. and Canada, this booming online database registry serves more than 500,000 families, nannies, and babysitters. “Years ago, families spent around $800 – $5,000 for an agency to place a nanny in the home.
Now you simply go online, bring up your zip code, and find a whole list of providers looking for a position. It’s a huge money saver and, with the economy being what it is, having a nanny makes it easier for families to accomplish all of today’s demands.”
The database is designed to assist families in finding a quality nanny for their specific needs and, likewise, to offer nannies an enjoyable employment experience. A free preview of available nannies is viewable to families, whether you’re looking for full or part-time, temporary, seasonal, live-in or live-out nannies, or elderly/companion care.
While there’s no fee to look, Candi says, “Once you become a paying registered member, then you gain access to contact information and advanced search features. Tools are also available to registered families and nannies, including sample interview questions, a sample reference form and a sample contract.”
Don’t be surprised if Nannies4Hire.com sounds familiar. This skyrocketing agency has been featured on The Dr. Phil Show, Super Nanny, and on TLC’s show John and Kate Plus 8. Ready for the next level, Candi launched Care4Hire.com, a database registry for personal assistants, tutors, eldercare, and other services. “We want to empower families,” says Candi, “to know the right questions to ask when hiring a caregiver and to feel comfortable checking references and backgrounds so they know their loved ones are safe.
We also want them to know it’s ok to ask for help, especially given today’s lifestyles and environments which put more stress on a family than ever before. In the long run, having a nanny or a caregiver benefits the entire family by making a household run much smoother.”
You don’t want to miss this opportunity to talk to Candi up close and personal!

Intern Queen Lauren Berger is Nominated for BusinessWeek Best Entrepreneur

Our friend, Lauren Berger(a/k/a Intern Queen) has been nominated and is now a finalist for Business Week’s annual, 25 of America’s Best Young Entrepreneurs 25 and Under. There are 25 finalists selected and from that amount they pick only a handful of winners. It’s a voting competition so whoever gets the most votes wins.
“This competition is a dream come true for me and I would really appreciate your support and any ideas you might have to help get the word out”, asks Lauren.
Lauren is such a delightful and talented young lady who would benefit immensely from this competition. She spends her time helping college students land internships as a means to increase their skills. This is an incredible program and one that I use on a routine basis.
Check out Lauren’s entry here and vote for her here! (yes, there are two different links. One is information about Lauren, and the second one is for you to vote for Lauren!)
We are very proud of Lauren and have our fingers crossed that she wins!
That’s it for now! Until next time, wear your heels well!
