What Does Your Libdo Reveal About You?

SHOW RECAP: What fun to talk about sex and our “urge to merge.”

Did you know that approximately 43% of American women have some form of “sexual dysfunction,” the majority suffering from decreased sexual desire? According to Dr. Diana Hoppe, this is true!

On her site, Dr. Hoppe shares….

www.Listentoyourlibido.com  a wonderful resource for women to cover all aspects of female sexuality.

As women, we dedicate 100% of our hearts and minds to our family, our work, and our community. We are organized, smart, nurturing, and generous. We are intensely well-informed about how to manage our finances, cook chicken in 365 different ways, write a brilliant resume, and be the best parent who ever lived. What we tend to overlook, however, is becoming as well-informed as possible about our private concerns: our mental, physical, and sexual health.

According to a National Health and Social Survey, approximately 43 percent of American women—including those in their early child-bearing years—have some form of “sexual dysfunction,” the majority suffering from decreased sexual desire. Yes, almost half of American women—in the prime of their sexual lives—would rather choose sleep, a good book, or a soothing bath over having sex with their partner. What about you? Take a close look at how you are living your life. Are you putting your physical, emotional and spiritual needs last?

By keenly assessing the choices you make, you can find the strength and power to live a more satisfying, fulfilling life. As a woman, it’s important to become aware of the highly significant and important connection between your libido and your quality of life. A pleasurable sex life spills over into the rest of your life. In fact, sex is actually good for your health—it can lead to a longer life span, less stress and depression, a healthier immune system, as well as more loving relationships, a greater sense of self-esteem, more enjoyment and satisfaction from life, and a feeling of recaptured sexual vigor—all things that women strive for.

The latest scientific research and practical tips presented in this book can help you take control of your health and relationships. This book will cover new information, such as the most recent brain research targeting specific areas of brain function (especially those impacting sex/orgasm), and new drugs aimed at tackling the core issues affecting women’s libido.

Are you ready to really listen to your libido? A critical objective of Healthy Sex Drive, Healthy You is to give you permission to be sexy and sexual! You deserve to experience the fullness and joy of great sexual intimacy! But in order to do so, you must be informed. Understand your body and your brain and the processes that govern sexuality, as well as those that create a reluctance to enjoy intimacy. When you (and your partner) have the facts and the language to express this important element of your life, you can communicate more effectively. This candid communication can not only save your relationship, but also prove to get the sexual juices flowing. The choice to be happy and healthy sexually is within your control.

Is there such a thing as Female Erectile Dysfunction? Find out on DivaTalkRadio – A Show for Confident Women when Gina Parris and Kelli Claypool talk with Dr. Diana Hoppe, a Board Certified OB/GYN about women’s health and intimacy issues.

From alpha dogs to Goldendoodles with Jennifer Tilman

LIVE SHOW RECAP:

We had a great time with our guest Jennifer Tilman, author of Grooming Tales from A to Z.

Insights we gained from our questions and answers to Jennifer were…

Divas: Best dog to get for a family with young children?
Jennifer: I recommend a Black Lab Retriever because despite their size they are the most docile and easy going. Plus they will just walk away instead of getting impatient when they’ve had enough of the children.

Divas: What insight do you have for Diva Gina considering adopting a greyhound?
Jennifer: Greyhounds are very sweet dogs and great to adopt after their racing careers because they need someplace to go and they are very gentle but when it comes to disciplining them, you must be very careful to not break their spirit. They are so gentle.

Divas: What do you think are the smartest dogs?
Jennifer: Border Collies, Poodles and even Dalmatians, which can also be manipulative! Jennifer once found herself flip-flopped in a game of chase with her Dalmatian, and wondering, how did I become the one chasing?

Dogs have amazing language skills. They understand our language (without speaking baby talk to it.)

Maturity-wise, our dogs grow to the maturity level of about a 3 year old toddler. They are more intelligent than they get credit for.

At the end of this show, it remained a mystery why some owners actually look like their dogs!

How to Attract Money With Mind Power

James Goi  Inspires the Diva’s to Attract Money with Mind Power

Is it Woo-Woo or is it real?  I say it’s all “woo-woo” (if by that you mean part of the non-physical world) and it’s all real too! Our guest James Goi sure had some interesting ideas about this much talked about idea. Below are the notes I took as I listened and asked questions!

There are certainly keys to bringing in more finances with your mind. Yes, you will  be
inspired to take the right corresponding actions, but also do not rule out the power of
a windfall, because those happen too!

Step 1
Relaying to the subconscious mind and the universe what you really want

Step 2
You will discover ways to receive

People are often not proactive enough – not just as workers, but as mindset-builders.

Don’t be running after money, but get quiet and let yourself be led.

Desire  “Desire is the great moving power of the mind”  –Robert Collier 1921
The subconscious mind works with images and emotions. The images don’t matter as much as
intensity. So make sure you are feeding your mind with the images that evoke intensity in
a positive way for you.

Worry would be emotional intensity working against you!

Question: How do I get my desire for a new car high enough since I am fairly content and
not totally clear what car I want?

Answer: Be open to the best car for you, whatever it may be that is currently waiting for you.

Great affirmation may be:
I am so happy and excited now that I have the perfect vehicles for me at the right time.

Otherwise, just focus on the full bank account and you’ll have more than enough!

Yes, these concepts truly do work.

What the mind profoundly expects, it tends to receive.

Pegi Burdick on Diva Talk Radio

Pegi Burdick, The Financial Whisperer™ helps women untangle their emotions from their money.

She was such an intriguing guest as she peeled back the curtain to reveal what is REALLY going on when we have financial issues. More importantly she explained how to move from shame to self-love where financial freedom is already waiting.

Some highlights:

What is Shame? the “gift” that keeps on giving. A learned behavior when you were young. When we attach shame to different things, it creates a distance between ourselves and everyone else, because we are afraid people will see us and “throw us off the bus.”  Everything around is us about relationships including our relationship with money.

The best thing to do, instead of avoiding our shame is to shine a light on it. Talk about some of the issues to those with whom you are safe. It’s about letting go!

You can receive Pegi’s handouts  by emailing her at pegi@thefinancialwhisperer.com. Be sure to put DivaTalkRadio in the subject line and Pegi will be happy to send you her valuable handouts.

Recap: Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith Shares How to Lose Weight the Healthy Way

Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith on DivaTalkRadioDr. Saundra Dalton-Smith was our guest today instructing us in true healthy weight loss as a journey. We focused on asking yourself the right questions as you get fit. Then she told us more about her wonderful book and how you can get it.

If you are embarking on a weight loss plan ask yourself:

1. What is the underlying goal you are trying to attain by losing weight? And what is it going to do for you? If its a way of validating yourself, it is a setup for disappointment.

Best perspective: See it as a health issue. This is a health journey with daily choices.

2. What short term goals do you have for your weight loss?

Instead of saying 10 lbs in 2 months. Let it be something you can control. “I will do zumba 2 days a week.” If life happens and gets in your way you can make it up at home and attain your goal. Let it be less regimented. Find ways to be flexible. You can do it on your terms.

3. What is your long term goal. If it is a number let it be a range. Ask yourself, “At what weight do I feel the best?” When you get to that number, that is the highest you should ever weigh again.  Then you will find a number that you kind of sit at. Call that your “happy number.”  That may be higher than the body mass index, but if you keep doing the right stuff, let God make up the result.

4. How will you define your successful plan?  Get away from a certain number and tune into a good feeling!

5. When will you terminate your plan?  -This is a trick question! We are looking for you to embrace the journey!
This was a great show! We encourage you to get Dr. Saundra’s book:

Set Free to Live Free – Breaking through the Lies Women Believe

Is Prayer an Important Part of Your Day?

Add more pray to your day. Women of all faiths share the same values. Every woman wants to achieve her own measure of success. But how do you manage to feel good and be productive when you’re faced with challenges, conflict and confusion? How can you best celebrate your blessings, overcome your problems, and do the most good for others?

In 2009, Susan Diamond set out to empower women by giving them an easy way to add more prayer …to their daily lives. Why? Because women who take the time to connect with their higher power are happier and more fulfilled. Having just the right words at the right time is difficult in a busy world. Churches, synagogues, temples and mosques serve us well, yet you don’t need to be in a house of worship to pray. From this realization, Prayables was born.

Prayables is a free online prayer community that offers women short prayers that reflect a woman’s story. They are relevant to our times and honor all faith perspectives. Prayables gives you a way to bring more meaning to your life and a space to simply take time for you. We offer a new way to deal with everyday issues, global concerns and spirituality. You can help others through prayer, build stronger relationships and become a better you!

The Divas will talk with Susan Diamond, Founder of Prayables, on the next DivaTalkRadio. Join us for this inspiring show.

Surviving on a Teacher’s Salary with Danny Kofke 11-17-10

family pic

Danny Kofke is currently a special education teacher in Georgia. He is an elementary education major and taught kindergarten and first grade before moving into special education. He has done something to show others how they can do well despite earning a modest income by writing the book “How To Survive (and perhaps thrive) On A Teacher’s Salary.”

Danny has been a teacher for ten years and is proud to say that passion for the craft keeps him in the classroom but smart savings and basic understanding of financial principles have kept his wife (willingly!) at home with their children. Many find it hard to believe that one teacher can support a family of four, but “How to Survive” explains the steps necessary for others to follow suit and save for life’s journeys.

In his book he shows others how to:

  • Retire with a sizable nest egg;
  • Teach in a foreign country;
  • Own all of their possessions – including their cars and houses;
  • Invest in Roth IRAs and 403bs;
  • Establish a weekly budget;
  • Live a financially secure life on a modest salary

Danny has been been featured in a number of publications including USA Weekend, Bankrate.com, PARADE, Instructor Magazine, CBS MoneyWatch.com, FoxBusiness.com, The Wall Street Journal, ABCNews.com, Yahoo Finance, Consumer’s Digest, Bottom Line Personal, Your Family Today and The Huffington Post.

This show is one that you do not want to miss! Mark your calendars and plan on joining us.

Special Co-Host: Danielle Miller, a former Special Ed teacher who now coaches folks to find and live their purpose.

Show Recap: How to Finally Lose the Weight and Keep it Off With Michelle Pearl

SHOW RECAP: Our Guest Michelle Pearl had some startling and disturbing insight followed by very ENCOURAGING and practical steps to finally losing weight and keeping it off.

After a lifetime of struggling with obesity, (just shy of 300 pounds) Michelle’s research led her to discover that…

-People who had an ongoing weight problem had totally different metabolic response to food.  The brain actually sent out messages to your brain that you are HUNGRY all the time.  The body acted like it was starving. The naturally slender body never has the same issues.

“That’s why you still feel hungry all the time.” Says Pearl. “Your body is getting endless messages to – EAT!!!  You lose
it and finally think its under control but you haven’t.”

Michelle also explained:

If  one was overweight as a child or had a Body Mass Index over 40 as adult, that person  has an abundance of fat cells that never go away. They are waiting to be refilled.  You have to learn how to handle that ongoing feeling of hunger.

After about 2 weeks you start to adapt. Make changes in 2 week baby steps. Grit out the change for awhile.

The only thing you are “failing” at is bucking the natural biological responses. Its not a matter of weakness.  Diet pills are “bull.” So the pill will work chemically only as long as you are taking the pills.

Of course she tried them all.

wake-up-book-by-michelle-pearlFor true success at real life weight loss, Michelle has 10 steps:

1. You must EAT! The worst thing you can do is starve yourself.

2. Understand the biology of a craving! There is a physiological reason for food cravings: Body makes a chemical reaction to fat mixed with sugar goes right to the opiate receptor. Meats have a lot of fat – cooking it triggers the opiate receptors. sensory memory is saying “I want that.”  Chocolate – fats and sugars.

3. Eat some regular staple food: Most thin people tend to eat staple food all the time

4. Eat less fat – 75% less fattening cheese cabbott cheese for mexican food, mac & cheese,

5. Trash the Temptations – don’t keep them in the house

6. Cut out Fast Food – the fat in it is addictive! Find substitutes – nearest starbucks – hot cocoa w/ no whipped cream,
and sugar free flavored syrup

7. Exercise!! If you truly want to lose weight and keep it off, than exercise is essential. The only thing that can RAISE your metabolism is exercise.  Choose something you can love!

For Steps 8-10…
