Kathy will be talking about how the current education system’s conventional wisdom for struggling students is to create dependency in order to acheive success:
dependent on tutors and teachers aides
dependent on more time and less work
dependent on drugs like Ritalin and anti-depressants
Kathy says, “I don’t blame schools; they don’t know yet that there is another way. Through 8 years of working with these kids, I’ve seen them become successful after an integrated approach. See, there is no silver bullet. But there are paths to success! If more of the same doesn’t work, it is time to find the path that does work.”
