Yesterday was a doctor day for me, so I was out of the office all day. When I did finally return to the office a good friend Skyped me to tell me that her son was in a car accident. The son was without physical injuries, but was extremely shaken and the car was totaled.
As my friend was sharing this with me, I kept hearing in my heart “Praise Him in the storm”…”Praise Him in the storm”. I was obedient and shared that with my friend. We went on with our conversation for a few more minutes just in time for me to leave for football.
Later when I returned home, I went back to her earlier Facebook posts to find out about how she was doing and how her son was doing. What I found in her earlier posts was nothing but amazing. Early that morning, my friend had posted some lyrics from the Casting Crowns song “Praise You in this Storm”. How cool is that? When she made that post, she didn’t know that her son was going to be in a car accident. She didn’t know that her day would be turned upside down due to the affects of the accidents.
But, our God is so faithful and He prepares us. He gave her the desire to share those lyrics with her Facebook friends, and I believe that He was preparing her to depend upon Him for strength. He confirmed this when I told her to “Praise Him in the storm”.
You see when we are obedient to that sweet small voice inside of us, we are able to move mountains. In Psalm 46:10 it says “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” I believe this passage is reminding us to lift up our burdens to Him, to count on Him for our strength and our comfort.
So as you go throughout your day, be reminded to Praise Him in everything including in the storms of life.
I love you, Diva Sisters
